Victory

Victory.
The Victory Center.
Victorious Life Center.

We threw a few names around, but the bottom line is we have found Victory through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, and we want to help others find this Victory also.

Mike understands the life. The anxiety. The pain. The loneliness. The cold. The hunger. The addiction. The godlessness.

Drugs, sex, alcohol, selfishness, crime, addiction, jail – these things are not foreign for Mike. He has lived through them, sought after them, craved them. He has spent hours and hours working jobs just to blow through his money on addictions. He has spent years of his life just looking for the next way to get his next hit – no matter who he hurt along the way. He’s lived on people’s couches and in their backyards. And, yes, he has even lived on the streets, laying his head anywhere he could catch a few moments of rest. Perhaps physical rest, but never true rest – true rest comes from God. Thankfully Mike was able to find that rest, which came along with hope, peace, joy, and ultimately eternal life. Sadly, many who live this life never come out of it, they live in it until they die.

Mike struggled to believe the words in the Bible, until one day he finally surrendered and the living Word, Jesus, spoke to His heart and soul. That day his life was changed. Day by day he read the Bible, and day by day his life was changed. In time he stopped desiring drugs. In time he stopped speaking with vulgar language. The more time he spends with the Lord, the more he becomes like the Lord.

For Mike, this hope and this changed life was offered to him by former homeless addicts in a residential ministry in CA. Others who had known that life. Others who had surrendered to Jesus.

Since God rescued Mike from the harsh world he had him found himself in, he has desired to commit his life to helping others find hope in the Lord as well. After meeting his wife, Sarah, together they have longed to reach out into the homeless community and offer a place where people can come and find rest – both spiritual and physical. To stop running. To stop craving. To stop being controlled by harmful substances. And to stop living as enemies of God.

A vision that is 8 years in the making, we are stepping out in faith, trusting God with the ministry we call Victory.

Victory is a place where homeless people can find a home. Victory is a place where hungry people can be fed. Victory is a place where empty people can be filled.

We have many passions for this ministry. We are starting with seeking out ways to feed people and we are trusting God to bring in the perfect location so we may have a place to get people off the streets. This is so much more than another local shelter or soup kitchen. The people who come seeking shelter and food, will be given those physical accommodations, yes, but will also be offered the Bread of Life and a home in eternity. People coming in to get sober will have a safe place surrounded by prayers, comfort and love – and they will be offered a drink of Living Water that they may never thirst again.

This is still a vision in the making. We are currently seeking help from anyone who feels led to be a part of this life changing ministry. Victory is in need of finances, land, a facility, donors and volunteers. Victory needs prayers and support from anyone who believes in this vision.

We want nothing of this for our own gain. If you can give, give all to the glory of God. If you can pray, seek nothing but the Lord to make Himself known through this endeavor. Pray for God to be kept the center of this ministry always, that people may come to know Him as their own Savior. That the angels in heaven may rejoice over sinners being saved.
